Founded by Pierre-Francois Pascal Guerlain in 1828, Guerlain is a French perfume house that began as a supplier of hygiene products. The business was run by four generations of family members until 1994, when Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy (Lvmh) acquired the company. Jean-Paul Guerlain was the last of the family to be involved with the company when he retired in 2002. He had served as a mentor to Thierry Wasser, who became the brand’s perfumer in 2008. The company’s main office, flagship boutique, and museum are located on the Champs Elysees.
